My art comes as a counterpoint to architecture. The combination of shapes and colors represents a memory of a vista or more specifically a place and time. The input is a result of my recollection; however the subject matter or emotion is the responsibility of the viewer. The colors combine and intersect and border with a freedom that is not readily achieved in today’s architecture. My passion truly lies in the process (which may not be obvious), and the nuances of the piece are not revealed until I’ve completed it. I also encourage viewers to engage the piece at varying distances – composition and construction are viewed from afar, while fantasy and ethos are observed at a much more intimate distance. From afar, the frame contains the finite limits of the piece, while up close the experience is infinite.
